The project:

The EVS: The European Voluntary Service is a program run by the European Union and part of the Erasmus+ program. Young people from Europe can apply for projects in another European Country, where they live and work voluntarily for non profit organisations. The projects can last from 2 weeks up to one year. The volunteers receive free accommodation and food and get the chance to experience a new culture, getting involved in social projects and become more aware of international exchange.

Our project: Ungdom og Fritid, our organisation, hosts four volunteers every year for twelve months. They live together in one house and work in different youth clubs in the city of Stavanger, which is the fourth biggest city in Norway and still very small. But it lies in the south of Norway and next to the sea. Therefore there is almost no snow during winter and the temperatures are very mild. Nevertheless it is one of the areas with the most rain in Europe.
